Independent creative innovation catalysts CIDA are the first official sponsors of Unsheffield. They are instrumental in delivering the ECCE Innovation Project, an initiative which stimulates the digital and creative industries in a dozen selected cities around Europe.
The objectives of the project include increasing business-to-business partnerships and strengthening collaboration between the creative industries and R&D bodies to improve access to new and foreign markets for local enterprises. There is a strong focus on fostering cross-sector connections, based on research showing that creative industries are an important driver of social cohesion and growth in other sectors.
We’re very excited that CIDA have selected Unsheffield as a partner event to help realise the project goals in this European Year of Creativity and Innovation.

CIDA specialises in helping to strengthen the contribution of the creative industries sector to the economy, regionally, nationally and internationally. Since it was established in 2000 and across 28 different support projects, CIDA has:
- assisted over 3,200 creative individuals and over
- 2,500 creative businesses
- helped create more than 600 jobs
- recorded in excess of £18.3m (€22 million)increase in client sales
- secured in excess of £19.3m (€24 million) investment into the sector
